Arsenal’s Konsa sent home injured by England, with Leeds on 10 October the worry

The day’s Arsenal news in the time it takes to drink a coffee. Every morning, free.

Ezri Konsa is back at Arsenal for assessment. England have sent him home injured, and he'll miss Tuesday's Nations League game against Czechia.

Thomas Tuchel said on Monday that Konsa came into camp with discomfort and that after playing against Spain it "got a bit worse". He "tried everything for the game in Croatia" and "got another hit on the quad". "Nothing major but not worth the risk," Tuchel said.

Konsa played the full 90 minutes against both Spain and Croatia. That's a player carrying a problem through two matches. I'd rather England had made this call before Croatia, not after.

Leeds come to the Emirates on 10 October. I wouldn't rush him.

Max Dowman has withdrawn from England's Under-19s "due to injury". The straight red card he picked up against the United States on Friday may well have had something to do with it.

Kai Havertz is back at London Colney with a hamstring injury. So is Christos Tzolis.

Piero Hincapié, Ben White and Cristhian Mosquera are back in training ahead of the weekend, according to Football.London. For Leeds, that matters more than anything Tuchel said.

Arsenal have now confirmed the decision reported here on 3 October. There'll be no "huge scale masterplan" for the Emirates. The upgrades will come in stages instead.

Hospitality, retail, catering and the visitor experience are the focus. "Expect more hospitality offerings," the Arsenal Supporters' Trust told members afterwards. That's the line I'd watch.

The Trust also got a commitment that the club has "no current plans to move or reduce any general admission places". The word "current" is carrying a lot of weight in that sentence.

Arsenal Women's 4-2 defeat at Manchester City leaves them 10th in the WSL, 10 points off the top, before Birmingham City visit on 17 October.
